Sonar Barcelona Transfer

Sonar runs across two venues on opposite sides of the city, and the night sessions finish long after the metro has stopped. We take you between them and get you home at four in the morning without a queue and without a surge price. Booked ahead, agreed in writing.

Event Details

Sonar runs from 17 to 19 June 2027, split between Sonar by Day at Fira Montjuic and Sonar by Night at Fira Gran Via. The two sites are about 5 km apart, which catches out a surprising number of first timers every year. Every Sonar Barcelona transfer we run is planned around that split, and around the hour the night programme actually finishes rather than the hour printed on the ticket.

The Thursday night session runs deep into the early hours. This is the night people most often underestimate the journey home.

Two venues, one driver, and a car at four in the morning

A Sonar Barcelona transfer covers both halves of the festival. Fira Montjuic for the daytime programme, Fira Gran Via for the night, the run between the two, and the run home afterwards. Our Sonar festival chauffeur service works on hours rather than single journeys, which suits a festival where the plan tends to change as the night goes on.

The Sonar Barcelona location is really two locations. Fira Montjuic sits up on the hill near Placa Espanya, and a Fira Montjuic transfer takes about 15 minutes from most central hotels. Gran Via is out in L'Hospitalet, roughly 10 km from the centre, and that is where the night sessions run until dawn. A Sonar by night transfer Fira Gran Via back into the city at 05:00 is probably the single most useful thing you can book in advance, because at that hour the metro is shut and the apps know it.

  • 100% luxurious fleet, from saloons to eight seat vans and 16 seat minibuses.
  • Drivers scheduled through the night for the whole festival, not just until midnight.
  • Direct runs between the Montjuic day site and the Gran Via night site.
  • Prices agreed when you book, with no early hours multiplier added later.
  • Airport pickups with flight tracking and terminal meet and greet.

Why Choose Barcelona Wheels

We work the nights. Our cars are out at four and five in the morning across the festival, because that is when people actually need them.

Between the two sites

Montjuic in the afternoon and Gran Via at night is a real journey, not a walk. We run it directly, for groups of any size.

Restructuring

Montjuic in the afternoon and Gran Via at night is a real journey, not a walk. We run it directly, for groups of any size.

The price you were quoted

We do not apply a multiplier at three in the morning. What we quote when you book is what you pay when you get in the car.

You get the driver's name, mobile number and car details the day before, and you can message them directly on the night if the timing shifts.

Get to or from the airport

Sonar lands in the middle of June, which is peak season at El Prat and a poor week to be standing in a taxi queue with a suitcase. We meet you inside the terminal, carry the bags to the car and drop you at the hotel with the afternoon still intact. A Barcelona festival airport transfer can be booked on its own or as part of a package covering the whole festival, and the same driver can collect you again for the flight home on the Sunday.

Some people land on the Thursday evening and want to go straight to Gran Via with a bag still in the boot. We can do that. The driver either holds the luggage or drops it at your hotel while you go in, which beats dragging a suitcase through a cloakroom queue and means the first night is not written off to logistics.

Getting between the Sonar venues

The Sonar Barcelona venue question trips people up every year, because there are two of them and the official shuttle only runs to the festival's own timetable. If you want to leave the day site at seven and eat properly before the night session, a Sonar Barcelona private driver takes you straight there and waits while you do. Groups of six or eight usually find a van cheaper than splitting across two taxis, and a good deal easier at the end of the night when everyone wants to leave at the same moment.

Montjuic sits on a hill and the roads narrow as you climb it, so the drop point for the day site is not always right at the door. We will tell you where the car can actually reach before you book rather than afterwards. The night site has the opposite problem: wide open, easy to reach, and a long way from anywhere you might want to eat when you come out of it.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I book my Sonar Barcelona transfer?
Three to four weeks out for a car. If you want a van or a minibus for the late collections, make it six, because the 04:00 and 05:00 slots are the first to go.
How far apart are the two venues?
About 5 km, which is 15 to 25 minutes depending on the hour. It is not a walk, and plenty of people find that out the hard way on the first night.
What if we come out later than planned?
Message your driver. They are working the night through, so half an hour either way is normal rather than a problem.
Is the price fixed?
Yes. Quoted in writing when you book, and the same amount whether you come out at midnight or at six in the morning.
What if we come out later than planned?
Message your driver. They are working the night through, so half an hour either way is normal rather than a problem.
